Who sees what
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Owner | Creates the project, invites and removes people, creates reading codes, deletes the project. |
| Can write | Writes in the script, prepares the shoot, edits storyboard, floor plan and moodboard. |
| Can comment | Reads and leaves comments, without touching the text. |
| Can read | Reads the project, without changing anything. |
| Reading by code | No account: reads a single version and annotates it. Nothing else. |
Confidentiality, stated precisely
- Traffic with the site is encrypted (HTTPS). Scripts and files are encrypted where they are stored.
- This is not end-to-end encryption: the server decrypts texts to display, share and export them. The software gives DUKE no screen to open your projects; the people who run the servers technically have access.
- DUKE-DRAFT trains no model on your texts. They only go to a provider when you ask: the AI assistant (Anthropic) and language checking (LanguageTool).
- Sign-in with a one-time code, valid 15 minutes and cancelled after five wrong tries; code requests are limited; “Sign out of all my devices” closes every session.
Ownership and data export
- Everything can be exported, at any time: each project as a .zip, all your projects at once, the script as PDF, Word, Final Draft, Fountain or text.
- Deleting a project, or your account from “My account”, erases the text and files immediately. Nightly backups keep a copy until the end of their retention.
Roadmap
The pilot
A real project, your team, a few weeks, and an honest review at the end.
- 01
Choose
A project in writing or in prep, and the people working on it.
- 02
Invite
Everyone creates an account; the owner invites the others with their permissions.
- 03
Take stock
What works, what is missing, and getting your data out if you stop.
